BASSO BROOKE | ASHISH | LFW | BACKSTAGE – FRONTROW

ASHISH
9am : BOOSH! fashion crowd out in full makeup and killer heels: BOOSH! grey skys and pouring rain BOOSH! facing a 100 fashion paps BOOOOOOOSH! Yes a little much before 10 am, but oh so worth it! The first look was ironically a blue and white striped sequined pajama suit which was followed by an eclectic mix of woolen knits, check patterns ( in sequns, of corse) and an oh so entrancing matt black body contour fish tail dress. Think rebellious russian princess’s and 90’s grunge. What about the extras? Well the only way to compliment this fashion fusion was with hardly any makeup at all! Head makeup artist Georgina Graham’s idea was that “small statement’s often make the biggest impact. The most simple make-up can sometimes be the most visually arresting.”

BASSO BROOKE BACKSTAGE AND FRONT ROW!

I was luckily able to have a peek at the collection backstage before the show, and i was nearly moved to tears by the beauty, colour and highly expressive ( and obviously emotive) lines and tailoring. Come show time I was sitting next to the lovely Brix Smith who owns Start Boutique in East London, we both agreed that the collection was complete Fashion poetry. I also had a chat with the head of hair design backstage, he said that the slicked back non fussy look was going to be huge in the next year, but also to watch out for wearing hair the natural way, no products. Yay, i can bring my afro out!

The talented Basso and Brooke.
